Adios, Jayson Tatum and Luka Doncic. The battle for NBA MVP is down to Joel Embiid, Nikola Jokic and Giannis, and it’s loaded with drama. Here’s how it has unfolded:
March 7: Philly drills the T’Wolves, as Embiid scores 39. Milwaukee cruises past the Magic without Giannis.
March 9: Milwaukee wins again without Giannis, topping Brooklyn 118-113.
March 10: Embiid scores another 39 as Philly edges Portland. Denver suffers an embarrassing road loss to San Antonio despite Jokic’s 26th triple-double.
March 14: Giannis finishes with 36 & 11 against the Suns while the Nuggets lose again.
March 15: Embiid dominates (36 & 18) in Philly’s road win over the Cavs.
March 20: The Sixers’ winning streak ends at eight with a double-OT home loss to the Bulls. Embiid (37 & 16) is great; James Harden limps off after a stinker (2-14 FG).
