FIGHT NIGHT

July 7, 2023

EVENT: UFC 290 Featherweight Title Fight

WHERE: T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas

WHEN: Saturday, July 8, with the main card starting at 10 p.m. ET

THE FAVORITE: Alexander Volkanovski (25-2) went nearly a decade without a loss, with the majority of those fights coming in the featherweight division. His 22-fight winning streak was snapped after his move up to lightweight, with Islam Makhachev besting him by unanimous decision at UFC 284 in February.

THE UNDERDOG: Yair Rodriguez (16-3) claimed the interim featherweight title with a win over Josh Emmett via submission at UFC 284. He’s been training at an ancient Aztec temple over 10,000 feet above sea level to help improve his cardio.

OTHER ACTION: The fighter that has generated the most handle to win a UFC 290 bout is Brandon Moreno. Moreno is currently -210 chalk over Alexandre Pantoja (+170) for the flyweight title.
