The women’s World Cup kicks off on Thursday, and we’re ready for the heart-pounding action over the next month from Australia and New Zealand. For the cherry on top, let’s try to increase our bankroll as well.
We’ve tasked soccer expert Jon Eimer to guide us with his favorite futures plays.
Germany to Reach the Semifinals (+110)
Germany’s recent form backs its ability to make a very deep run in this competition. The group stage should be no problem, as the Germans are -10000 to qualify from the group and -1667 to win it. But looking at their experience, they’re capable of throwing punches with the biggest names in this competition. They made it all the way to the 2022 Euro finals after knocking out a strong Spain, Austria, Finland and France side, only conceding once in those four matches.
USA to Win the Cup (+225)
Even with players like Mallory Swanson, Catarina Macario and defensive powerhouse Becky Sauerbrunn missing, this squad is unbelievably stacked with talent and experience. USA is also coming into this competition in incredible form, having won another SheBelievesCup final with a 2-1 triumph against Brazil. With a schedule that presents the opportunity to even rest some players to maintain form, consider backing the USWNT to pull off the three-peat.
England to Win the Cup (+400)
I cannot emphasize the importance of England’s recent success coming into this competition. England has won multiple trophies already this season, including the Euros Final 2-1 over Germany and the Women’s Finalissima against Brazil. England, like the USWNT, has a relatively easy path until the semifinals. Even though England is also missing a few key players, this is a side that means business.
